Choosing a Diamond is Difficult Because of So Many Cuts

Where do you start? Well there is the original round cut, oval cut, Marquis cut, princess cut, emerald cut, and so many more. Well first you must decide what you think that special someone will prefer. Some women like heart shaped while others prefer the elegance from an emerald cut diamond. We will be taking a closer look at the diamond cuts to help you get started on making a decision.

Emerald Cut

Emerald cut diamonds are very popular because of the unmatched elegance it can bring to any engagement ring. It is more popular on three stone diamond rings because the rounded rectangular shape can be complimented with two other stones of a different cut. It has a cut that is known as a step cut which when sparkling can resemble a stair case.

Round Cut

Round Cut diamonds are the most popular choice out of all other cuts. It makes up 75% of the diamond sells, this is because the extremely specific 58 cuts on it give it a beautiful sparkle that nearly everyone loves and is looking for in a diamond. If you can not make up your mind on a more specific cut, then leave this one as your "go to" cut just in case.

Princess Cut

This is a square cut diamond that has to be precisely cut to be able to assure it's maximum brilliance. When it does, man does it shine. This type of diamond cut is usually found on single stone diamond rings, but when placed on a 3 stone diamond ring with two triangular stones on either end, it makes for one sweet engagement ring.

The Asscher Cut

This diamond cut is a mix between a squared diamond cut and an emerald cut. This cut was developed in 1902 so it is relatively new. It brings the best of both worlds, you get a beautiful rounded squared diamond with the amazing stair step effect from the cuts that is similar to an emerald cut diamond.
